Step into an intimate evening where poetry, culture, and presence come together in a beautifully curated experience.
Whispering Rumi is a soulful gathering led by Mahin Huschmand, celebrating the timeless wisdom of the beloved Persian poet, Rumi.
The evening will be mostly in English, with select poems shared in Persian so guests can hear Rumi in his original language…no Persian background needed.
Whether you are discovering Rumi for the first time or returning to his work with fresh eyes, this gathering offers a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself and others.
As part of the experience, enjoy the warmth of traditional Persian hospitality with carefully selected Shiraz wine, refreshing Sekanjebin, and authentic Persian treats, all thoughtfully prepared to complement the evening. Traditional Persian music will gently weave through the night, deepening the atmosphere and connection to the culture.
More than a poetry reading, Whispering Rumi is an invitation to slow down, nourish your spirit, and experience the beauty of community through storytelling, culture, and meaningful conversation.
Guests are welcome to bring a favorite Rumi poem of their own. Whether it’s a passage that has deeply touched your life or a piece you feel called to share, there will be an open and welcoming space to read it aloud.
Your intimate evening of connection and culture includes:
• Live recitation of Rumi’s poetry (primarily in English, with select pieces in Persian) by Mahin Huschmand, with reflections from the group
• A gentle invitation to share your favorite Rumi poem or other meaningful verse
• Traditional Persian music to enrich the atmosphere
• Traditional Persian hospitality featuring Shiraz wine, Sekanjebin, and Persian treats
